Four Stacks Brewing Company
Veteran- and family-owned Four Stacks Brewing Company opened its Apollo Beach location in October of 2015, and as of August 2019 expands to the Gibsonton/Riverview area with a new location. The new space features a modern/industrial motif complete with 1,600-square-foot patio and 18 taps of locally made craft beer, plus multiple cider and wine selections.
Owners Nathan and Heather Hangen relocated to Florida upon conclusion of Nathan's tour as an Airborne Soldier and Army Psychological Operations SGT at Fort Bragg, founding Four Stacks in 2014 after initial disappointment with the lack of craft beer options in their community. Originally operating under the name Monument Brewing Co., the Hangens were inspired by the four tall smokestacks of TECO Energy's Big Bend Power Station and adjacent Manatee Viewing Center, seen from Interstate 75 near Apollo Beach, and as such the new moniker was born. The 2,500-square foot Apollo Beach location quickly became known for great beer, a great environment and fantastic people thanks to the Hangens commitment to quality products and customer service.
Each location features live music every Friday, Sunday pro football games, live DJ events and of course, 18 taps of locally brewed craft beer, wine and cider selections, plus premium wines by the bottle. The brewery's focus is on classic styles brewed to standard, according to Nathan, with the addition of sour ales, rich porters and the occasional barrel-aged beer. Four Stacks' unique brews can also be found in multiple bars and restaurants across the area thanks to their partnership with Cavlier Distributing. Look for them at the upcoming Halfway There and Bolts & Brews festivals.
